The Society has now spread throughout the world and is organized in autonomous  Provinces under Provincial Masters elected by their Brethren. We live under a common Rule and meet together in local SSC Chapters on a regular basis for prayer, Mass and some kind of study or conversation. Presiding over the Society worldwide is a Master-General who has a special responsibility to ensure an on-going fidelity among the Brethren to the spirit of the Society. He serves a five year term and can be re-elected for an additional term on one occasion.
He Chairs the General Council of the Society of the Holy Cross which is made of other Province Masters and Officers as below:

The Province of Our Lady of Sorrows.  America 

 “The Province of Our Lady of Sorows began with a number of clergy no longer in communion with the Church of England who nonetheless wished to remain in the SSC charism and in some fellowship with the four provinces of the Society. They use the same Rule and customs and though they are not organically part of the Society, we have friendly relations and in many cases, long history. If you are interested in the Society’s charism and Rule of Life, but are not in full communion with the Church of England, we encourage you to investigate the Province of Our Lady of Sorrows.  Those interested in the Society in North America who are in communion with the Church of England should address themselves to the Province of the Americas, full members of the Society.”
